1912 Gibson F-2 Mandolin
In good condition. 3-point oval hole early Gibson Mandolin. The serial number is faded but we make it out to be 12776 which would put the manufacture date in the 1911 to 1912 range. Appears all original including the Handel inlaid tuning machines. The frets show minimal wear, and the mandolin plays well up and down the neck. There is wear to the top back and sides as pictured. The top appears to have had a coating of shellac applied long ago. There is a separation from the sides and back near the base, also pictured. Apart from the side/back separation there are no other cracks or repairs. Missing the tailpiece cover and inlaid pickguard. Includes the original hardshell case that shows signs of external wear and pealing cover material. There are initials painted on the top of the case. The case is structurally intact and the latches function well.
